Service Support, Calibration and Training

PE.fiberoptics designs and manufactures to exacting standards, with special emphasis on product reliability and life time. 

 Despite the care taken, there will inevitably come a time when you will need to call upon us for support in one form or another and you need to know that you can rely on us to provide timely, cost effective solutions to your needs.

 Test Equipment ownership carries an obvious cost which is the purchase price. Less obvious are the costs of delay caused by equipment failure, as well as the outlay for maintenance, re-calibration, repairs and upgrades. In today’s fast moving markets, projects are time and task- focused to one aim - achieving the project goals. Often the project requires a measurement facility to be available with minimum downtime and with predictable costs - a great way to guarantee that is to augment your purchase and warranty with one of our PRO-SUPPORT packages.

 To meet the needs of each customer we can tailor our services to ensure that we offer a complete, end-to-end solution suitable to your individual needs. Furthermore, we can provide extensive training to allow your own personnel to carry out most repairs or maintenance work on-site.

 All PE.fiberoptics products have in-built diagnostic software that allows our engineers to quickly establish the status of your equipment and diagnose any fault that may occur. Also, as our equipment runs on standard PC platforms using the latest operating systems, we are able to connect over the internet to your instrument allowing our engineers direct access, enabling a more in depth analyses of any issues, thus preventing any misdiagnosis that may otherwise result in unplanned expenditure.


Warranty Support

  • On-site support 

For systems classed as production/lab products that have been supplied with Installation and training included in the price, support is provided on-site at no cost for failures covered by the warranty with the exception of specific exclusions mentioned in any purchase contract. This on-site support is provided for a period of one year unless otherwise stated in the purchase contract.

  • Return to factory warranty support

For systems classed as field products and production/lab systems that have not been supplied with Installation and training included in the price, support is provided on a return-to-factory basis with parts and labour provided free of charge, shipping costs to be paid by the end-user unless specifically stated otherwise in any purchase contract. This return-to-factory-warranty support is provided for a period of one year unless otherwise stated in the purchase contract.


Service Support

  • Telephone/Email/Online support

This option is customised for customers do not wish an engineer to visit and who may have capabilities of their own that complement the activities of the supporting engineer.

Support is charged for on a per/day basis and covers both telephone, email and direct online connection with the instrument.


  • Comprehensive Plan

This option is customised for Production and QA lab instruments where maximum productivity is required. 

The plan includes the following:

    • Cover for all direct expenses.
    • Parts and labour.
    • Annual on-site certified calibration.
    • Fully traceable to international standards.
    • Fully compliant to manufacturer’s ISO9000 procedures.


  • Labour Plan

This option is customised for QA lab instruments where the user does not need to lock in their risk on parts.

The plan includes the following:

    • Cover for all direct expenses.
    • Labour.
    • 20% discount on parts required.
    • Annual on-site certified calibration.
    • Fully traceable to international standards.
    • Fully compliant to manufacturer’s ISO9000 procedures.
    • Excludes parts.


  • Return to Factory Plan

This option is targeting our range of field portable instruments but is also for those QA lab users who do not require the work to be carried out on-site.

The plan includes the following:

    • Cover for all parts and labour.
    • Five day turnaround for repairs.
    • Annual certified calibration.
    • Fully traceable to international standards.
    • Fully compliant to manufacturers ISO 9000 procedures. 
    • Excludes shipping costs.

Calibration

  • On-Site Calibration Service

This service is designed to provide calibration for QA Lab instruments and will include annual on-site certified calibration fully traceable to international standards and fully compliant to manufacturer’s ISO9000 approved procedure with labelling for subsequent scheduled calibrations.

  • Factory Calibration Service 

This service is designed to provide calibration for field portable instruments and will include annual certified calibration at our ISO9000 registered factory, fully traceable to international standards with labelling for subsequent scheduled calibrations.


  • Calibration options

For both Factory and On-Site calibration services, options exist to tailor the service to your requirements:

    • Standard calibration service using artefacts traceable to either NPL(UK) or NIST (USA), depending upon the parameter being certified.
    • Calibration using Customer supplied calibration artefacts and fibers, where traceability is derived via the customers own documentation to whatever national or international body their documentation allows.


Training

  • On-Site or Factory Training Service

Our dedicated and highly skilled team with proven measurement background will provide ‘hands on’ customised training at your designated site.
Training packages can include:

    • Basic optical fiber theory.
    • Instrument operation.
    • Measurement result interpretation.
    • Measurement failure analysis.
    • Instrument Failure analysis.
    • Instrument routine maintenance.
    • Instrument 1st line maintenance.
    • Instrument detail service and repair.
